Balance Widget puts your real bank balances on the iPhone home screen, the lock screen, and the Mac desktop. Connect your accounts through Plaid, pick which balances go where, then just glance. Just the number — no budget to set up, no categories to maintain.
The app isn't finished yet, and there's nothing to download today. It ships when it's genuinely ready, on both App Stores at once.
Read-only access through Plaid. We never see your bank password, and nothing here can move money.

Scope
Deliberately narrow.
Most money apps grow until they need a weekend to set up. This one reads a number and shows it to you. Knowing what a tool refuses to do is usually more useful than its feature list.
What it will do
- Current and available balances for every account you connect
- Home screen, lock screen, and Mac desktop widgets, configured one by one
- Account groups with subtotals, and a net position across everything
- Masked digits per widget, so a balance isn't readable over your shoulder
- A daily refresh, plus a pull-now when you need the current figure
What it won't do
- Budgeting or categories. Other apps do that well
- Ask you to set anything up beyond connecting an account
- Move money. Read-only, permanently
- Ads, and your data isn't sold
Security & privacy
Written down before launch, not after.
Connecting a bank account deserves specifics rather than reassurance. Your bank sign-in happens inside Plaid, with your institution — we receive a revocable token scoped to reading balances, never your credentials. Access tokens are encrypted at rest and only ever decrypted server-side. Every database query is scoped to your own user by row-level security enforced in Postgres.
